How to Reach Karnala

Karnala is situated on the Konkan coast and at a distance of 50kms from the city of Mumbai.

By Road

Mumbai to Karnala is 60-km, by road. One can reach Karnala from Mumbai via Thane creek and Panvel. Karnala is 120-km away from Pune and 13-km away from Panvel. State Transport buses ply regularly from Bombay Pune Station, Panvel, Khopoli, and Pen.

By Rail

There are several Central Railway trains from VT Station to the nearest railhead at Panvel, 12 km from the sanctuary; from here you can hop on to autorickshaws, taxis and buses. State Transport buses run from Mumbai Central to Karnala.

By Air

Nearest major airport is Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, which is nearly 60 km from Karnala. Mumbai (Bombay) is well connected to all major cities in India and also connected to many cities abroad. Taxi services are the one direct travel possibility from Mumbai to Karnala. It costs about Rs 1200.
